  • Artistic Director

    Coro Angeli Conductor

    Kevin Meidl co-founded the Badger State Girl Choir in partnership with the Valley Academy for the Arts in Neenah, Wisconsin. As conductor and artistic director of this ensemble, he leads elementary, middle and high school girls in a diverse performance-based program inclusive of both choral music performance and literacy.

    In addition, he is the artistic director and principal conductor with the Appleton Boychoir, a treble choir of young boys currently celebrating their forty-second season. He is past director of choirs and music department chair at Appleton West High School and the Renaissance School for the Arts. He taught junior high school and high school choral music in Appleton for thirty-seven years. He is also past conductor of the Fox Valley Symphony Chorus, a 100 voice adult choir that performed major works annually with the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra.

  • Prima Choir Conductor

    Vivace Choir Conductor

    Mrs. Autumn Meyers is a 2004 graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. She received a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music and General Music. She taught in the Green Bay Area School District, Rosendale Brandon School District, and is in her 15th year in the Appleton Area School District. She currently teaches at Appleton West High School where she conducts Alta Voce, Kantorei, and Chamber Choir.

    When Mrs. Meyers isn't at school; you'll find her spending as much time as possible with her husband and their five young children. Investing in a rich family life is her greatest joy and her life's most important work. She brings her family atmosphere into the choir room, hoping to create a warm environment where her students can take risks, make mistakes, and grow as musicians. Her goal in teaching is to get kids to "sing and love it" by focusing on building community through rich relationships and excellent choral repertoire.

  • Amabile Choir Conductor

    Danielle Braun is the director of choirs at Shattuck Middle School in Neenah. She graduated in May of 2018 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelors of Music Degree in Choral and General Music Education. In college, she assisted the UW Women's Concert Chorale as well as the Symphonic Orchestra.

    A graduate of Appleton West High School, she is excited to to return to her hometown and work with such great singers and colleagues.

  • Associate Conductor, Voice and Music Literacy Instructor
    Eric Britz is in his eleventh season with the Badger State Girl Choir as Assistant Conductor and Music Literacy Director. Mr. Britz is a graduate of Appleton West High School and an alumnus of the Appleton Boychoir. He graduated in 2013 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelors of Music Degree in Choral and General Music Education. There he was a member of the UW Concert Choir, as well as the music director and arranger of an a cappella group that received 2nd place honors in a national competition under his direction.

    He taught Choral and General Music in the Oshkosh Area School District for 9 years at the Elementary and Middle School levels and continues to assist as the Sound Engineer for Oshkosh North High School winter musicals.

  • Choir Manager

    Audrey Moore is a classical flutist, church musician and private teacher in the Fox Valley. She currently teaches flute at Appleton West High School as well as at her home studio in Appleton. In addition, she works at Appleton West High School as the Director of the Music Scholars Institute. She enjoys performing with a variety of groups including the Wisconsin Symphonic Winds, Fox Valley Flute Choir and the Appleton Boychoir.

    Mrs. Moore has a Master of Music in Flute Performance from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Millikin University. She has studied with Debbie Eddy, Mary Ellen Pool, Fritz Kraber and Jacqueline Hofto.

  • Music Literacy Teacher, Instrumentalist Coordinator

    William (Billy) Brandt is a music educator who currently serves as Director of Choirs at Freedom High School. In addition, he is the Director of Choirs for the United Church of Christ in New London, Wisconsin, directing both the handbell and vocal ensembles.

    Outside of his teaching career, Brandt is also an avid writer within the field of music education. Many of his articles have been published by notable organizations including the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and his first book entitled Let’s Talk: Music with Barnes and Nobles in 2021. His second book A Guide To: Choral Warmups is slated for release in 2024. As a composer, Brandt has premiered works with several groups and has published works with notable handbell publishers such as From the Top Publishing, Paraboloid Press, and Meadowlark Melodies.

    Brandt obtained his Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, with a certification in PK-12 Choral/General. He holds membership status with several organizations including the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA), the Handbell Musicians of America (HMA), and the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME).

  • Marketing & Media
    A former alum of the Badger State Girl Choir, Lauren Meidl is excited to serve as the Marketing & Media Specialist for the group today! She recently obtained her Masters degree in Marketing from LIM College in Manhattan. Previously, she honed her professional skills as the Marketing Coordinator for Miss Ruby Bridal in Milwaukee, and as the social media intern of luxury menswear designer Frederick Castleberry in New York City. Both roles prioritized creating compelling social marketing strategies for the businesses.

    Currently, she works with small business clients on a freelance basis through Bloom Marketing to improve their marketing, social media, branding, and PR objectives.

  • Voice Specialist

    Sammi holds degrees from St. Olaf College (Music Education), and North Park College (Voice). She has taught choral/general music in Illinois and was a professional singer with the Chicago Symphony Chorus. Miss Block has also been on the voice staff at Appleton West High School as well as the Appleton Boychoir as a Voice Coach.

  • Collaborative Pianist
    Kimberly Spielbauer is a 2009 graduate from UW-Oshkosh with a Bachelor's of Music Education (choral/general) with piano emphasis - studying under Ms. Beverly Hassel and Dr. Eli Kalman. She began accompanying soloists, ensembles, and church services as an early teen and flourished over the years - including choral directing (adult/children), choral accompanying, freelance music, and music director (at UWO Newman Center for five years and St. Mary and St. John parishes in Menasha for seven years). During college and post-graduation, she also has directed the Oshkosh homeschool choir, Oshkosh VSA Choir for adults with special needs, taught general music at St. Mary's (Greenville), and taught private piano lessons.
